Kutumba, the renowned Nepali folk music band is performing in various schools as part of their effort to bring relief to students from the earthquake trauma. They intend to do it in two ways; 1) use their soothing and melodious music to bring some comfort to the students and 2) collect stationary items for those children in the remote villages who are affected more than the others. They will perform in our school on Monday, July 6, 2015.
It is true that we are all affected by the earthquake one way or the other. Yet, this is an opportunity for all of us to extend ourselves to those who are affected by it more than us. Hence I request you to make use of this opportunity to reach out to those worst affected children. Please send stationery items (pencils, copies, erasers, sharpeners, instrument boxes and so on) of your choice and ability along with your child before July 6. After the performance, we shall hand over the materials to the Kutumba Band members.
Forming our students into socially conscious and responsible citizens especially towards the under privileged is one of the prime objectives of our school. We consider this as a great occasion especially at this time of extreme need.
With Honest Efforts, Awake and Shine
