Khushi Karki, 4A
I saw a hungry beggar, sitting under a tree
He was so hungry; he could not look at me.
His eyes were oh so hollow; his hands were very thin,
His shirt was old, his feet were bare
He sat there with such an empty stare.
He stretched out his hand and asked for bread,
With a pleading look, so much he said.
I thought about the tasty jam and bread,
The jam and bread that I never ate,
The jam and bread still on my plate.
And in my heart I knew right then
No food I’d ever waste again.
I also knew I had to share,
My food and clothes to show I care.
